SAN JOAQUIN <br />-:aU; i y <br />Environmental Health Department <br />AMENDED <br />1/21/2020 <br />Large Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br />Facility Name: <br />Facility Address: <br />Date: <br />PEP BOYS #711 <br />4987 WEST LN, STOCKTON <br />January 13, 2020 <br />SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br />(CLASS I, CLASS II, or MINOR - Notice to Comply) <br />Item # <br />Remarks <br />403 <br />CCR 66265.173 Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br />waste. <br />OBSERVATION: The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed on-site: <br />- A red 5 -gallon container with a black drain pan was observed storing two used paper oil filters, located on top of a <br />paper filters hazardous waste drum near the service bay area (see photos IMG 0412-3, 0427-8). <br />- A white 5 -gallon container was observed storing oily water, located underneath the table of motor oil containers <br />draining into three hazardous waste containers near the service bay area. Rich Loredo, Service Manager, emptied <br />the oily water from the white container before the inspector could take a photo. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br />storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: The violation was corrected during the inspection by Rich Loredo, Service Manager, who <br />placed the two paper filters into a 55 -gallon paper filters hazardous waste drum and placed the oily water into the <br />55 -gallon oily water hazardous waste drum at the time of inspection.
