r. •
Response
The Building Inspection Division recommended that the applicant provide restrooms conforming with all
disabled access requirements.
The Department of Public Health Services has indicated that portable restrooms should only be used for
temporary events. Therefore, permanent restrooms should be required and should be provided with a
sewage disposal system under a permit and inspection by the Environmental Health Division. The
Division has indicated that Condtion 3.a. would not necessarily require a second septic system if the
current system for the house could be upgraded under permit from the Division.
Appeal Statement No._3 (condition 3.b.)
The applicants object to the requirement for construction of an individual private water well. They maintain
that water is not needed because the portable restrooms will provide water for hand washing and that
bottled water is available for drinking.
Response to Appeal Statement
After the Appeal was received, the Department of Public Health Services indicated that the condition may
be deleted because a private well serving the existing residence on the same parcel could also be used
for this project. This issue was raised by the applicant at the Planning Commission hearing, but was not
discussed by the Commissioners.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN FOLLOWING APPROVAL:
None.
Sincerely,
CHET DAVISSON
DIRECTOR
CD:CM:fa
Enc: Appeal, Minutes, Staff Report
c: Pat and Dan Van Groningen
Quartaroli & Associates, Inc.
U P92-12.61-
BOS PAGE NO. 2
