22 September 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 09-1692
• Benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and total xylene (BTEX) in accordance with EPA
Method 8260.
Laboratory reports of both soil and ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory QA/QC
reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report.
3.4. GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
A grab ground water sample will be collected from `deep' soil probe borings during the boring
process using a Geoprobe water sampling assembly. Samples will be collected into 40-m1 volatile
organic analysis(VOA)vials and 1-liter amber bottles as appropriate for the required analyses, both
without preservative;grab ground water sample collection procedures are presented in Section 4.3.
Grab ground water samples will be analyzed by a CDPH-certified laboratory for the constituents
listed in Section 3.3.
3.5. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY
Following advancement, selected pilot borings will be completed as single-level ground water
monitoring wells. After installation, the wells will be developed to maximize water flow and
minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing, and
the location and well-head elevation of each well will be surveyed by a State of California licensed
surveyor.Procedures for well installation, development, and survey are presented in Sections 5.3 and
5.4, respectively.
3.6. QUARTERLY GROUND WATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
Following installation of wells, monitoring and sampling will be conducted at all monitoring wells
on a quarterly basis. After several quarters of monitoring, the frequency may be modified, as site
conditions permit.Monitoring activities will include recording depth to ground water measurements
and collection of ground water samples for laboratory analysis by a CDPH-certified laboratory for
the analytes noted in Section 3.3.Ground water sample collection protocols are described in Section
5.5.
Laboratory reports for ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory QA/QC reports, and
sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in quarterly reports with findings and
recommendations.
Advanced GeoEnviromnental,Inc.
