•
22 September 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 09-1692
shallow soil impacts and collect grab ground water samples.
• One `deep' soil boring will be advanced adjacent to the fuel dispenser under the fueling
canopy to define deep and shallow soil impacts, approximately 10 feet northeast of boring
B3.
• One `deep' soil boring will be advanced to define deep and shallow soil impacts
approximately 5 feet southeast of boring B8.
• One `deep' soil boring will be advanced to define deep and shallow soil impacts and collect
grab ground water samples, approximately 40 feet south of boring B3/136.
• One `deep' soil boring will be advanced approximately 40 feet east of boring B7.
Additionally, AGE proposes to advance four pilot soil borings for in the following locations
(Figure 2):
• One pilot soil boring will be advanced approximately 5 feet south of boring B6, east of the
fuel dispenser release, under the fueling canopy.
• One pilot soil boring will be advanced approximately 25 feet east of boring B9.
• One pilot soil boring will be advanced approximately 10 feet northwest of boring B 1, near
the diesel AST.
• One pilot soil boring will be advanced in the area boring B7.
Shallow soil borings will be advanced to a depth of approximately 10 feet bsg and `deep' soil
borings will be advanced to a depth of approximately 30 feet bsg or until soil samples no longer
demonstrate hydrocarbon impact. Field procedures for probe boring advancement are presented in
Section 4.1.Pilot borings will be advanced to a depth of approximately 30 feet bsg.Field procedures
for Pilot boring advancement are presented in Section 5.1.Proposed probe boring locations may be
modified due to field observations.
3.3. SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
As each `deep' soil boring and pilot boring is advanced, soil samples will be collected at 5-foot
intervals beginning at 5 feet bsg and extending to the total soil boring depth. Field procedures for
collection of soil samples are presented in Sections 4.2. and 5.2. Selected soil samples will be
analyzed by a state of CDPH-certified analytical laboratory for the following constituents:
• TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified and,
Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc.
