Ranch Market page 2
23569 S. Santa Fe Rd., Riverbank (Escalon).
EHD concurs with Phase 1 of the IRAP and considers it adequate and
necessary (H&S Code 25296.10(c)(3). DPE is approved as an interim
remedial action.
EHD has not had successful results with oxygen releasing compound slurries
injected into the subsurface. Petroleum concentrations in the ground water at
sites where these slurries were added did not remain low enough for any length
of time to support their use. Additionally, the State Water Resources Control
Board (SWRCB) has not readily approved reimbursement of these products due
to lack of cost-effectiveness. EHD does not approve of the use of PermeOx at
this time. EHD will wait for the results of Phase 1 before re-evaluating the
use/need of this product.
You may contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 if you have any questions.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Enviro ental
lHHealth D partment
Michael J.
