It is intended to <br /> prepare personnel for potential emergencies. <br /> This Contingency Plan specifically defines the types of incidents that can be handled by <br /> trained LLNL personnel and those that must be mitigated by the Alameda County Fire <br /> Department (referred to hereafter as the Fire Department). This is accomplished by <br /> classifying the particular incident in accordance with the levels described below in <br /> Section 1.2. <br /> Note: LLNL has contracted with the Fire Department to provide response capabilities at <br /> Site 300. <br /> 1.2 Implementation of the Plan <br /> This Contingency Plan is designed to minimize hazards to human health or the <br /> environment from fires, explosions, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of <br /> hazardous waste or hazardous waste constituents waste to the air, soil, or surface <br /> water. The provisions of the Plan shall be carried out immediately whenever there is a: <br /> • Fire, <br /> • Explosion, or <br /> • Release of hazardous waste or hazardous waste constituents which could threaten <br /> human health or the environment. <br /> 1.3 Maintenance of the Plan <br /> 1.3.1 Copies of the Contingency Plan <br /> A copy of the General Plan and the appropriate Site-specific Plan will be maintained <br /> onsite at the WAA and in the WAA Coordinator's files. <br /> A copy of the General Plan with the Site-specific Plan shall be maintained onsite at: <br /> S300 WAA Contingency Plan 5 September2018 <br />
