¢.0 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
The employment of the aforementioned engineering controls is the preferred method of providing
personal protection from hazards identified at this and any site. PPE provides acceptable secondary
recourse, but only when engineering controls fail or cannot adequately eliminate exposure to the
hazard. The use of PPE is intended to provide protection for on-site personnel from chemical, physical,
and operational hazards that cannot be controlled through other safety procedures.
PPE required to be on-hand for each worker during this project will include:
® Hard Hat(without face Shield) ® Safety Glasses
® Leather Boots ® Disposable inner gloves (nitrile)
(for sample handling)
❑ Chem. Resistant Boots ❑ Chem. Resistant gloves (Type? )
® Leather Gloves ❑ Air-Purifying Respirator (Half-/Full-Face)
® Ear Plugs/Muffs ❑ APR Cartridges (Type? )
® Orange Vest ❑ Tyvek coveralls (Type? )
❑ Other(Specify )
It is assumed all PPE will be NIOSH/ANSI approved, as appropriate. The use applications for this
equipment are summarized in the following matrix.
