6_2 Protective Clothing <br /> The protective equipment to be donned by personnel working in the Exclusion Zone is listed as <br /> follows: <br /> • Body Protection: Body protection shall include the use of"work clothing," including long pants <br /> and long-or short-sleeved shirts and orange vests. <br /> • Head Protection: Non-metallic hard hats shall be worn by all personnel. <br /> • Foot Protection: Foot protection shall include the use of leather boots with steel toes, except that <br /> steel toes will not be required for the geophysical survey. <br /> • Hearing Protection: Hearing protection shall include the use of disposable foam ear inserts. <br /> • Eye Protection: Protective eye wear (i.e., safety glasses) shall be worn by personnel working in <br /> direct proximity to operating heavy equipment. <br /> • Hand Protection: Hand protection will include leather gloves for drilling tasks and nitrile gloves <br /> for sample handling. <br /> 6_3 Miscellaneous Safety Equipment <br /> Additional protective equipment to be available to personnel working at the site is listed as follows: <br /> • Communication: Portable radios/walkie talkies or cellular phones shall accompany all personnel. <br /> These levels may be up-graded by anyone, with prior notification to management personnel, but shall <br /> only be downgraded upon approval by either the SSO or the CIH. <br /> Project No.S8475-06-70 -19- April 25,2003 <br />
