i
06 June 2000
. AGE-NC Project No 97-0343
identified within 2000 feet of the subject site, the nearest, located approximately 900 feet west of the
site The nearest domestic well down-gradient from the site is approximately 1,250 feet south of the
site Six sites with ground water monitoring wells were identified within 2000 feet of the site
One site is the former Canteen Corporation site at 1500 Shaw Road, Stockton, California
On 07 and 08 June 1999, ground water monitoring activities were conducted at the former Canteen
' Corporation site The depth to ground water at the site ranged from 39 10 to 42 72 feet below the
tops of the well casings (btoc) Ground water elevation at the site ranged from 14 85 to 16 51 feet
below mean sea level (MSL) Based on ground water elevation data, the ground water flow direction
' is inferred to be toward the south-southwest to south The ground water gradient for June 1999 was
calculated to be 0 0013
A summary of well information is included on Table 4
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds
'0
la and clayey silt was the dominant soil type encountered at the site Sand intervals were
•
Clay Y Y YP
' locally encountered at depths of 20 feet and from 30 to 35 feet
• Impacted soil was encountered in borings MW 1, MW2 and MW3
' Low concentrations of hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected in the saturated
zone from borings MW3 and B6, but were not detected in the vadose zone samples from the
two borings Borings MW3 and B6 appear to be near the lateral extent of impacted soil
' toward the west and north, respectively During a previous investigation (Preliminary Site
Investigation Report, Former FISCO WAREHOUSE (Howard Lenz Property), 1648 Shaw
Road, Stockton, California, dated 30 December 1997) petroleum hydrocarbons were not
' detected in bonngs B2 and B4 NW3, BJC, R2 and indicate the lateral extent of
hydrocarbons in the vadose zone toward the south and east +t-J 't W
' The vertical extent of impacted soil is limited to approximately 40 feet bsg in boring MW1,
60 feet in boring B 1 and 50 feet in boring MW3
• Ground water flow at the site was determined to be toward the south, consistent with data
' collected at the Canteen Corp Site, located approximately 700 feet south of the site
• Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the ground water samples collected from each
' monitoring well at concentrations as high as 44,000 ppb (MW2) Diesel-range compounds
were detected in each well, however, the detected hydrocarbon appear to be the longer-chain
. gasoline compounds which were reported in the diesel range
Advanced GeoEnvironmentaI,Inc
