06 June 2000 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 97-0343 <br />' Page 5 of 7 <br />' TPH-g was detected in 9 of the 16 soil samples analyzed at concentrations as high as 6,700 parts per <br /> million(ppm, reported as milligrams per kilogram), TPH-d was detected in 7 of the 16 soil samples <br /> analyzed at concentrations as high as 5,800 ppm Benzene was detected in 4 of the 16 samples at <br />' concentrations as high as 0 027 ppm Toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected In 11 of 16 <br /> samples at concentrations as high as 370 ppm MTBE was not detected In any samples analyzed <br /> Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in 5 of the 16 soil samples analyzed Analytical results <br />' of soil samples are summanzed on Table 1 The laboratory reports (MAI Sample Nos 31880-31895) <br /> and chain-of-custody forms are Included In Appendix B <br /> 3 3 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION <br />' The elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water <br /> from the surveyed casing elevations (Table 2) The depth to ground water was approximately 35 feet <br /> bsg on 29 February 2000 and approximately 33 feet bsg on 03 March 2000 Ground water elevation <br />' increased an average of 2 19 feet between 29 February and 03 March 2000 The ground water <br /> gradient was calculated to be 0 037 ft/ft directed S 18° W on 29 February 2000 and 0 047 ft/ft <br /> lie <br /> directed S 12° W on 03 March 2000 <br />' 3 4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES <br /> TPH-g was detected In the water samples collected from MW1, MW2 and MW3 at concentrations <br />' of 6,300 parts per billion (ppb, reported as micrograms per liter), 44,000 ppb and 1,000 ppb, <br /> respectively TPH-d was detected In MW 1,MW2 and MW3 at concentrations of 860 ppb, 2,300 ppb <br /> and 220 ppb, respectively However, the laboratory report notes for each sample that "Although <br />' within the diesel range of hydrocarbons, this sample Is more representative of gasoline " BTEX <br /> compounds were detected at concentrations as high as 32 ppb, 410 ppb, 2,200 ppb and 11,000 ppb, <br /> respectively (MW2) Fuel oxygenated compounds were not detected In the three water samples <br />' collected <br /> Analytical results of water samples are summarized on Table 3, The laboratory report (Alpha <br />' Analytical Inc Batch No A00030707), chain-of-custody form and the laboratory QA/QC report are <br /> included in Appendix D <br /> 3 5 RECEPTOR SURVEY <br /> 1 No municipal wells were identified within the 2000-foot search radius The nearest municipal well <br /> Is located approximately 3,600 feet northwest of the site Eleven domestic/agricultural wells were <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
