' 20 September 2002 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 97-0343 <br />' Page 3 of 7 <br />' 3 1 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the EHD In addition, an update to the <br />' health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared In accordance with Occupational Safety and <br /> Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational <br /> Safety and Health Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, <br />' 1985) Prior to mobilization, the monitoring well location will be clearly marked and a utility <br /> clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert <br />' 32 DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION <br />' AGE proposes to install a ground water monitoring well between 3 and 5 feet east of CPT-1 <br /> (Figure 2) The boring for the proposed ground water monitoring well will be advanced to <br /> approximately 100 feet bsg, the total depth of the boring may vary according to <br />' hydrogeologic/geologic conditions encountered during drilling Procedures for soil boring and <br /> sampling are discussed in Sections 4 1 and 4 2 <br />' Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services <br /> (DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents <br />' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g, TPH-d) In <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030, <br />' • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary-butyl ether <br /> (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and <br />' • Fuel additives dl-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE), MTBE, tertiary <br /> amyl methyl ether(TAME),tertiary butyl alcohol(TBA), 1,2-dlchloroethane(1,2-DCA)and <br /> ethylene dibromide (EDB)by EPA Method 8260 Modified <br />' Laboratory reports for the soil analyses,testing methods,laboratory quality assurance/quality control <br /> (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with <br /> findings and recommendations <br /> I <br /> 3 3 MONITORING WELL COMPLETION, DEVELOPMENT, AND SURVEY <br />' The boringwall be completed as a two-inch diameter ground water monitoring well screened <br /> p ;�' g <br /> between 90 and 100 feet bsg Following well completion, the well will be developed to maximize <br /> water flow and minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping <br /> or bailing In addition, the monitoring well will be surveyed by a licensed professional relative to a <br /> IAdvanced GeoEnvirontnental,Inc <br />
