AGE-NC Project No 97-0343
' (Basin 5-22) This basin is drained primarily by the San Joaquin River The nearest surface water
feature in the vicinity of the property is the Stockton Diverting Canal located approximately 300 feet
north of the site The Stockton Diverting Canal usually contains little water and has not appeared to
' have a significant effect upon ground water depth or flow direction in the area, however the canal
could be the cause of the significant fluctuation in ground water flow direction and depth at the site
Ground water in the area of the site is considered to be of beneficial use
1
2 2 GROUND WATER DEPTH AND FLOW DIRECTION
' Based on ground water monitoring events recorded at the site between February2000 and September
2004,depth to ground water measurements have fluctuated between a high of 33 feet below the top
' of the well casings (bloc) and 62 feet btoc The inferred ground water flow direction generally has
been towards the northwest (nine times) at gradients ranging between 0 001 ft/ft and 0 008 ft/ft,
' ground water flow was towards the south four times at gradients between 0 01 ft/ft and 0 05 ft/ft,and
twice towards the east or northeast at gradients between 0 001 ft/ft and 0 04 ft/ft Depth to ground
water and ground water elevation data are summarized in Table 1
M
23 RECEPTOR SURVEY
rAGE conducted a well survey during First Quarter 2000 to identify municipal, domestic, industrial,
irrigation and monitoring wells located within a 2,000-foot radius of the site (Table 2) The survey
did not identify any municipal wells within the 2000-foot search radius, the nearest municipal well
was located approximately 3,600 feet northwest of the site(Figure 3) Eleven domestic/agricultural
wells were identified within 2000 feet of the subject site, the nearest well was located approximately
900 feet west of the site, and the nearest domestic well down-gradient from the site was
approximately 1,250 feet south of the site
Six sites with ground water monitoring wells were identified within 2000 feet of the site One site
is the former Canteen Corporation site at 1500 Shaw Road
2 4 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
Two 550-gallon USTs were removed from the site on 03 October 1986 by Stockton Service Station
Equipment Company According to correspondence from the EHD,both USTs were reportedly used
I to store gasoline Upon removal of the USTs, one soil sample was collected from the floor of the
excavation The sample was analyzed by California Water Labs, Inc , a state-certified analytical
. laboratory, for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPH-d), benzene, toluene and
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc
