�' ■ KLEIN FELDER • Soil generated during the sampling will be placed in plastic bags and left onsite. The borings will be backfilled with material generated from the soil cuttings. • Soil and water generated during the drilling and sampling will be the responsibility of the client. Soil cuttings and decontamination rinsewater will be left on site. Sampling and analysis of the contained soil and water may be necessary prior to disposal. Disposal or remediation options for the soil and water can be assessed once analytical results have been received. Kleinfelder is prepared to assist the client and to remediate or dispose of stockpiled soil and water, if requested. • The attached cost estimate is based on the estimate that drilling field activities can be conducted in a single day. If groundwater sampling, sampling at depths of greater than 11 feet or difficult field conditions are encountered, one field day may not be sufficient for the proposed work. If more than one field day is needed additional costs will be incurred. • This proposal addresses assessment of the potential limits of contaminated soil within the vicinity of the ASTs at the subject site, at approximate maximum depths of 11 to 15 feet bgs with approximately eighteen pushprobe locations. • This proposal is based on the presumption that the client will clearly mark utilities and will provide any and all available survey maps or other data to determine the location of existing structures, underground utilities and services. HCB should be aware that penetrating the site's surface is inherently risky. It is impossible to determine with certainty the precise location of all structures, which may be buried in the ground. Kleinfelder's fee is not adequate to compensate for both the performance of the services and the assumption of risk of damage to such structures. Disruption of utilities or damage to underground structures will be the responsibility of HCB. Services rendered by Kleinfelder to repair them will be billed at cost. Underground Service Alert (USA) at I- 800-642-2444 provides a partial location service free of charge for major utility lines. It is important that the HCB understand that subsurface buried under private property will not be marked by the public utility companies contacted by USA. Kleinfelder can make contact with USA for a site visit, if requested. • Two copies of the draft and final report will be supplied to the client, additional copies will be provided on a time and expense basis. Only one set of draft revisions are included within this cost estimate. • The client is responsible for providing an accurate map delineating site boundaries. If site boundaries are not clearly marked in the field, then it is the client's responsibility to arrange for such. • Sampling and analysis other than that proposed are not included in the scope of services. • This proposal and our associated fee are based on use of Kleinfelder's attached contract.
