J. HKi EINFFLDFR & ASSOCIATLS File No. S-2314-1
August 15, 1978
PAGE TWO
on grade, we understand that the living quarters will have
raised floors with an approximate 18-inch plenum space.
The ground surface beneath raised floors would be covered
with a thin layer of gravel. There is also a possibility
that soil berms as high as 4 feet may surround several of
the proposed residences.
According to the tentative parcel map prepared by Diablo
Engineering and Surveying Company, five common storm water .
percolation basins are proposed. Numerous residential streets
are also planned. We have assumed that minimal cuts and fills
on the order of one foot would be required to achieve final
grade.
Additional details of the proposed construction are not
known to our firm at this time.
PURPOSES AND SCOPE OF INVESTIGATION
The purposes of our Soils Investigation have been to
explore the surface and subsurface soil conditions at this site
and provide soil recommendations for use in design. The scope of
our services was outlined in our proposal dated July 11 , 1978.
At your request, we also attempted to obtain temperature
measurements versus depth to assist in planning for the solar
heating and cooling systems .
This report contains the following information:
1 . Plot Plan showing the location of the test
borings drilled for this investigation.
2. Logs of Test Borings .
3 . Summary of laboratory and percolation
test results .
4 . Recommendations for foundations for
residential units , including recommended
1 maximum allowable soil bearing pressures .
7
