STATE OF CALIFORNIA—HEALTH AND WELFARE AGENCY GEORGE DEUKMEJIAN, Governor
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES
714/744 P STREET
a
SACRAMENTO, CA 95814 !!":•
(916) 322-6675 April 25, 1989
 0
L
Mr. Robert Fowler N1AY 2 1989
Frank C. Alegre Trucking
802 No. Cluff Avenue ;J ^,I_ IIEALTFI
Lodi, CA 95240
I LRS, • , „EI&10ES
Dear Mr. Fowler:
Based upon the information you have supplied to the Department of
Health Services, a determination can be made that the fly ash in
question is not a hazardous waste. This determination is based
on the assumption that the samples that were analyzed were
representative of the waste as a whole. Therefore, there should
be no problem with your plans to mix the fly ash with sand to be
used for construction purposes, provided that the fly ash does
not change appreciably in chemical make up. A periodic sampling
and analysis for metals of the fly ash reeved from your
supplier is recommended to verify that the fly ash used continues
to be non-hazardous.
If you have any questions regarding this, or any other matter,
please feel free to contact me at (916) 322-6675.
sincerely,
John Harris
Associate Hazardous Materials
Specialist
Technical Services Unit
. 01-U,,4
J -
