Samples will be transported in a refrigerated ice chest
with appropriate chain of custody forms. Upon arrival to the
laboratory, the samples' condition will be checked and any
unconformaties will be noted. Copies of signed laboratory
reports and sample condition forms will be presented in the
subsequent PROBLEM ASSESSMENT REPORT.
1 A sieve analysis will be performed on one soil sample from the
saturated zone to determine the appropriate gravel pack and
screen size for future wells. If the saturated zone contains a
great amount of clays or silts a sieve analysis will be deemed
unnecessary.
3.3 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
Monitoring wells will be installed in each of the borings (Figure
5) . All wells will be constructed using two-inch, schedule 40,
threaded PVC casing and threaded, 0.010 inch slotted, Schedule 40
PVC screen. Screen size was selected in the anticipation of
encountering fine grained materials in the zone of saturation.
3-4
