5.0 Persona! Protective ct ve Equ►pment
Based upon the job hazard analysis, it is expected that project personnel will utilize Level D
protective clothing for sampling and other activities. Level C or Level B protective clothing
may be required for en into confined aces or
Y q Y spaces other operations depending upon the levels
f of contaminants as measured at the time of entry. It is anticipated that ventilation of any
confined spaces will result in atmospheres with no hazardous levels of contaminants. If
conditions warrant higher levels of protection, site work will be suspended until such
conditions can be rectified. Specific requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) to
be used during confined space entry will be specified in the HASP Addendum.
 1
5.1 Levels of Protection
Levels of protection shall be assigned to each task in accordance with Table 3.
5.1.1 Level D
The minimum level of protective equipment to be worn on site during project'ect is:
roi
• Hard fiat, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approved (near overhead
hazards)
Safety glasses, ANSI approved
Steel-toed boots or shoes, ANSI approved
• Long pants.
rr
'.
