AMERICAN
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT COMP.
Please Refer to:
AEMC Job No. 80542
4 October 1989
Ms. Darlene Reuss
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
P.O. Box 2009 -
Stockton, California 95201
RE: SOIL REMEDIATION PROPOSAL,FABRICARE j
711 S. SAN JOAQUIN STREET, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
Dear Ms. Reuss:
Enclosed is the Soil Remediation Proposal requested by the San Joaquin County Local
Health Department following the completion of a Contamination Assessment Workplan at
Fabricare, 711 S. San Joaquin Street, Stockton, California. The Contamination
Assessment Workplan successfully delineated the extent of contamination from a leaking
10,000-gallon underground gasoline storage tank. American Environmental Management
Corporation (AEMC) proposes to remediate contaminated soil at the Fabricare site by:
1. Extending the original depth of the gasoline tank excavation at the contaminated
end to a depth of 26 feet and aerate the excavated soil.
2. Allowing low levels of toluene contained in soils to naturally biodegrade. This
includes soils related to the two 5,000-gallon diesel tank closures and the
10,000-gallon underground gasoline storage tank that contain low levels of
toluene.
These are the only feasible alternatives for site remediation. If you have any questions,
please contact me or Mike Stephens at (916) 364-8872.
Sincerely,
JAMES F.
ERl1MM
James F. Frumm, R.G., R.E.A.
