Item No. 5
PC: 3-17-88
GP-88-12/ZR-88-10
Page 1
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Planning Commission recommend that the
Board of Supervisors:
1 . Approve a Negative Declaration and instruct the Clerk to file
a Notice of Determination;
2 . Approve General Plan Amendment Application No. GP-88-12 to
General Industrial as indicated on Exhibit Map No. 1 , and
based on the "Basis for General Plan Amendment" in the staff
report ; and
3 . Approve Zone Reclassification Application No. ZR-88-10 to M-2
(General Manufacturing) as indicated on Exhibit Map No. 2 and
based on the "Bases for Zone Reclassification" in the staff
report .
BASIS FOR GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT
"The internal consistency of the General Plan is maintained in
the adoption of the Amendment . "
Staff can make this basis because the map change does not
conflict with the General Plan policies. This Amendment provi-
des an opportunity for an airport-related activity adjacent to
the airport . The use will be compatible with adjacent land
uses in the area.
BASES FOR ZONE RECLASSIFICATION
1 . "The proposed zone district is consistent with the General
Plan. "
Staff can make this basis because the M-2 zone is com-
patible with the General Plan General Industrial land use
designation and is identified as an implementing zone for
land designated as General Industrial .
2 . "The site of the proposed zone district is suitable for any
of the land uses permitted within the proposed zone
district . "
° Staff can make this basis because the site is appropriate
for industrial development and can accommodate any of the
permitted uses in the M-2 zone.
3 . "The proposed zone district is reasonable and beneficial at
this time. "
