J. Vorster
3443 Routier Road
Sacramento, Ca 96827-3098
Dear Ms. Vorster:
Per your 15 September 1989 letter, it is the Navy's intent to perform interim
actions and removals at Naval Communication Station (NAVCOMMSTA) Stockton, based
on the availability of Defense Environmental Restoration Account (DERA) funds
for FY90. To date, our FY90 DERA budget has not yet been provided, although
indications are it will be quite austere. Should funding levels not be
sufficient to begin interim actions and removals at NAVCOMMSTA Stockton, they
will be included in mid-year review strategy for additional DERA funds.
Enclosure (1) indicates the interim actions and removals that will be
performed at NAVCOMMSTA Stockton when funds become available. These actions
will be performed per the basic issues addressed in your 23 August 1988 letter
and the Department of Health Services 16 September 1988 letter to the Navy.
Additionally, enclosure (1) indicates a proposed schedule for work plan
preparation and implementation once DERA funds for the RI/FS become available.
Should you have any questions regarding this matter the point of contact is
Ms . Rebecca O'Dell at (209) 944-0294)
Sincerely,
R. A. KAMRATH
Captain, U. S.
