The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br /> addressed for BRANNON TIRE- CLAREMONT as of March 13, 2020. <br /> Open violations from January 27, 2020 inspection <br /> Violation #301 - Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> OBSERVATION <br /> -The top of the used antifreeze drum was observed with a puddle of used antifreeze. <br /> -Four brake grinding machines were observed in the the hazardous waste storage room with brake dust on the <br /> machines and on the ground surrounding the equipment. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: A hazardous waste generator must maintain and operate its facility to minimize the <br /> possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of hazardous waste or hazardous <br /> waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately clean up the brake dust and top of the used antifreeze drum. Manage the <br /> waste according to Title 22 California Code of Regulations for hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting <br /> documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department describing the storage and final <br /> disposition of the cleaned up waste. <br /> ❑ This violation was corrected ❑ This violation will be corrected by (date): <br /> ❑ Supporting documents included <br /> Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation: <br /> Violation#303 - Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems,spill control, or decontamination <br /> equipment. <br /> OBSERVATION The secondary containment for the used antifreeze and new antifreeze drums was observed with <br /> liquid in the bottom. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: All facility communications or alarm systems, fire protection equipment, spill control <br /> equipment, and decontamination equipment, where required, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to assure <br /> its proper operation in time of emergency. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Bring the secondary containment into proper working order by cleaning up the spills. <br /> Provide a corrective action statement to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br /> ❑ This violation was corrected ❑ This violation will be corrected by (date): <br /> ❑ Supporting documents included <br /> Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation: <br /> Page 5of10 <br />
