ameO
Grab groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPH quantified as diesel (TPHd; carbon range
CIO to C25) using U.S. EPA Method 8015M; BTEX using U.S. EPA Method 8260; and PAHs
using U.S. EPA Method 8270C SIM.
4.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURES
Blind field duplicate groundwater samples will be collected at one of the sampling locations.
The duplicate samples will be stored in the manner of the primary samples and will be
submitted to the analytical laboratory for the same analysis as the primary samples. Because
of the heterogeneous nature of soil samples, a soil field duplicate will not be collected.
An equipment blank will be collected from non-disposable groundwater sampling equipment
(i.e., the stainless steel bailer) if used for groundwater sample collection. The equipment blank
will be collected by pouring laboratory-supplied deionized water through the decontaminated
stainless steel bailer. The equipment blank samples will be stored in the manner of the primary
samples and will be submitted to the analytical laboratory for the same analysis as the primary
samples.
A trip blank (deionized water) will be prepared by the laboratory to accompany the shipment of
sample containers. The trip blank will be stored in the manner of the primary samples and
submitted to the analytical laboratory for VOC analysis.
4.4 BOREHOLE DESTRUCTION AND SURVEYING
Following completion of sampling activities, soil and groundwater borings will be grouted to
ground surface using a tremie pipe in accordance with San Joaquin County boring permit
requirements. The ground surface at all sampling locations will be repaired to match
surrounding conditions (asphalt or concrete patch) and in accordance with permit
requirements. AMEC will obtain horizontal location information for all boring locations using a
global positioning system (GPS) device.
5.0 REPORTING
After analytical results have been received, AMEC will prepare a report documenting field
activities and analytical results. The report will include a description of field and analytical
methods, tables and figures presenting analytical results, and a discussion of the results.
6.0 SCHEDULE
Field work can commence within 4 weeks of obtaining approval of this Work Plan, contingent
upon receipt of necessary permits. Field activities are expected to be conducted over a 1-to
2-day period (depending on the number of contingency locations that will be necessary) and
AMEC Geomatrix, Inc.
X:\16000s\161130\4000\OffSiteEastWP 061511\1 txt,cvrs,Itrs\text.docx 6
