Limited Subsurface Investigatio), Work Plan 0
908 East Scotts Avenue C:)
Stockton,California a ntea g ro u p
Antea Group Project No. UPR82572
documents to SJCEHD: 1) Well & Boring Permit Application; 2) Well & Boring Permit Application Supplemental
(Licensed Contractors Declaration, or "LCD"); 3) Master File Record Information, or "MFR"; 4) applicable fees; and
5)this Limited Subsurface Investigation Work Plan.
3.2 Field Activities
3.2.1 GPR Survey
Antea Group will perform a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) survey to identify private utilities and any additional
PECs that may be associated with the site, such as drains, sumps, piping, or other subsurface features. While we
do not expect any underground storage tanks,dry wells, or other subsurface anomalies,Antea Group is performing
this scope based on the age of this property to assist in determining if historical industrial development and
activities in this area have affected the environment on this property.
3.2.2 Soil Borings
Antea Group anticipates installing up to 23 soil borings on the subject property to assess potential contamination
at locations identified as PECs. Proposed sampling locations are indicated on the attached Figure 2 and are subject
to change pending results of the GPR survey, access, and the presence of subsurface utilities or obstructions.
Antea Group will provide oversight and soil sample collection while our licensed subcontractor uses a hand auger
and a direct-push rig (Geoprobe® or equivalent) to bore to depths up to approximately five feet below ground
surface. The anticipated maximum depth at certain boring locations may be increased to 10 feet bgs, depending
on the site features and field observations (such as the bottom depths of storm drains or other subsurface
features, if present). The Antea Group geologist will submit the samples to a state-certified environmental
laboratory to analyze soil samples for one or more of the following contaminants of concern, based on the sample
location:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline and volatile organic compounds by Environmental Protection
Agency(EPA)Method 826013;
• Semi-volatile organic compounds by EPA Method 8270C SIM;
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel and oils by EPA Method 8015;
• Poly-chlorinated biphenyls by EPA Method 8082;
• CAM 17 metals(antimony,arsenic, barium, beryllium,cadmium,chromium,cobalt,copper, lead, mercury,
molybdenum, nickel,selenium,silver,thallium,vanadium,&zinc) by EPA Method 601013/7400;and
• Pesticides by EPA Method 8081.
Following collection of the soil samples, the licensed driller will abandon each boring location using neat cement
grout,capping each with material to match the surrounding floor or ground surface.
3 www.anteagroup.com
