One sample is to be collected near the apartment complex building in line with the
former UST excavation. The second sample is to be collected adjacent to the former UST
excavation. The samples will be analyzed using EPA Method TO-17 for total petroleum
hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPHg) and diesel (TPHd); benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); and for the leak detector compound, isopropyl alcohol.
The EHD review of the scope of work proposed in the WP found it to be adequate and
necessary to satisfy the Health and Safety Code, Section 25296.10 (c) (3). The WP is approved
by the EHD. The proposed work may begin once a completed permit application and fees for
the borings are submitted to the EHD and the permit is issued. The EHD is to be notified 48
hours prior to the commencement of any field work.
