o {;
x
r•,
Soil samples were taken 2 feet below the base of the vault and Tanks #
1 & 2, and 1 foot below the base of Tank # 3 before thn excavation was
backfilled, compacted and graded. The locations and depths of these
samples are shown in Figures 1-2 and 1-3. The samples were
analyzed by the following methods:
r. • Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons by EPA 8015,
• Benzene,Xylene, and Toluene, by EPA Method 8020,
-• a Halogenated Volatile Organics by EPA Method 8010, and
PCBs by EPA Method 8080.
Table 1-1 summarizes the results of these analyses. Several of those
samples were contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons.
However, no halogenated volatile organics, PCBs, benzene, toluene,
xylene or ethylbenzene were detected in any of the samples (See
Laboratory Reports in Appendix A).
Table 1-1.
s•a Results of.Analyses of Soil Samples Collected During Wank Removal s'
...
Sample Locaflon TPH PCBS VOCs BTX
Vault-South End <5 4.4 <0.05 <0.05
Vault-North End 35 <1.0 <0.05 <0.05
Tank 1 -Center 4900 <1.0 <0.05 <0.05
Tank 2-South End 600 4.0 <0.05 <0.05
Tank 2-North End 4100 <1.0 <0.05 <0.05
Tank 3-Center 6100 <1.0 <0.05 <0.05
All results reported in mg/kg
SATE DEA SCRIMON
The site is located in alluvial deposits characteristic of the San
Joaquin River Delta.
