r _
Former Thiemann's Service Station Page 2
106 West Second Street September 24„2009
Ripon, California 95366
In Soil Vapor Study dated May 7, 2008 ATC compared soil gas concentrations collected
from soil boring SG3 and historical groundwater concentrations collected from this site to
Environmental Screening Levels (ESLs) from Tables E and A, respectively, of the San
Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board document Screening for
Environmental Concerns at Sites with Contaminated Soil and Groundwater — November
2007 (revised 2008). ATC also compared soil gas concentrations collected from soil
boring SG3 to California Human Health Screening Levels (CHHSLs). ATC concluded that
human health and the environment did not appear to be at risk; however, ATC did not
compare the residual contaminant concentrations of TPH-g, benzene, toluene, ethyl
benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), to ESLs and CHHSLs. Please submit this
information, along with estimates of the residual TPH-g and BTEX masses in soil and
groundwater to the EHD by November 30, 2009.
If you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Vicki McCartney at (209)
468-9852, or by email at vmccartney(cD-sicehd.corn.
Sincerely,
Victoria L.
