Thiemann <br /> 327 Blossom Drive <br /> Ripon, California 95366 <br /> Subject: Former Thiemann's Service Station <br /> 106 West Second Street <br /> Ripon, California 95366 <br /> In October 2008, three cone penetration test (CPT) borings were advanced on- and off-site at the <br /> above-referenced site and grab groundwater samples were collected adjacent to each CPT boring. <br /> To date, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has not received the <br /> report of findings from this investigation. By letter dated May 5, 2009, the State Water Resources <br /> Control Board Underground Storage Tank (UST) Cleanup Fund recommended that you and your <br /> consultant, ATC Associates, Incorporated (ATC), assemble a comprehensive closure request <br /> package to be submitted to the EHD. The EHD can not comment on consideration for site closure <br /> until the report of findings from the October 2008 CPT investigation has been submitted for review. <br /> Submit this report to the EHD by June 25, 2009. <br /> Contaminants of concern have been detected in groundwater samples collected from monitoring <br /> wells MW-2 and MW-3 but not in samples collected from the other monitoring wells since July <br /> 2006; therefore, the EHD approves the following reduction;in sample collection: <br /> • Semi-annually collect groundwater from monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-3 and analyze <br /> the samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g); and benzene, <br /> toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes(BTEX).' <br /> • Biennially collect groundwater from MW-1, MW-4, MW-5, and MW-6 and analyze the <br /> samples for TPH-g and BTEX. <br /> If you have any questions concerning this letter,please contact Vicki McCartney at (209)468-9852, <br /> or by e-mail at vmceartne 'sicehd.wm. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Victoria L.
