Sample SP2-2: stock pile#2, north end; no hydrocarbon odor.
5. Sample T1-N: Tank 41,north end, 13 feet below surface grade (bsg); no hydrocarbon odor.
6.' Sample T1-S: Tank 41, south end, 13 feet bsg; strong hydrocarbon odor.
7. Sample T2-E: Tank 42, east end, 13 feet bsg; strong hydrocarbon odor.
8. Sample T2-W: Tank#2; west end, 13 bsg; no hydrocarbon odor.
9. Sample T3-C: Tank 93, center, I 1 feet bsg; very slight hydrocarbon odor.
10. Sample D-1: Dispenser Island, 4 feet bsg; strong hydrocarbon odor.
Samples were collected from the backhoe bucket by hand packing one clean, 2- by 3-inch brass
sleeve. Upon retrieval, the ends of each brass sleeve were covered with Teflon sheets, capped and
sealed with tape. Sample locations are illustrated on Figure 2.
All samples collectedwere placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody
procedure to Alpha Analytical Laboratories,Inc. (AAL)in Ukiah,-California. Selected samples were
analyzed for the following:
'4a Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) by GCFID/5030.
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as.diesel(TPH-d)by EPA Method 8015 modified.
• Volatile aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes: BTEX) by EPA Method
8020. —
• Fuel oxygenates, including methyl-tertiary butyl ether(MBTE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE),
ethyl tertiary butyl ether.(ETBE),tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) and tertiary amyl methyl ether:
(TAME) by EPA Method 8260.
• Total lead, by EPA Method 6010.
Analytical method detection limits are included with the laboratory report (attached).
LABORATORY RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES

Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in all samples submitted for analysis.'TPH- .Y P Y g was detected
in five samples at concentrations ranging from 7.7 milligram per kilogram(mg/kg; SP1-1)to 21,000
mg/kg(T2-E).TPH-d was detected at concentrations ranging from 1.1 mg/kg(T3-C)to 6,700 mg/kg
