Seventh St. APN: 196-250-52
Lathrop, CA 95330 SWRCB-CUF # 00367
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has received the State
Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Clean Up Fund (CUF) 5-year review summary for
the above subject site. Recommendations included in the review stated that the dual phase
extraction (DPE) remediation approved by the EHD in correspondence dated May 13, 2008
should begin without delay.
The EHD is aware of the current economic situation with the State Water Resources Control
Board (SWRCB) Clean Up Fund (CUF) and the difficulties it imposes for responsible parties
continuing to investigate their sites and is doing what it can to ease the burden. In order to
discuss the status and future plans for your site, the EHD would like to meet with you.
The EHD has evaluated the soil and groundwater data for this site and has concluded that the
DPE remediation plan for this site may not be the most cost effective due to the City of Lathrop's
high cost for disposal of the extracted water and the concentrations of contaminants in the vapor
samples collected during the DPE test don't indicate that soil vapor extraction is cost-effective
for remediating the residual soil contamination. Please be prepared to discuss other potentially
feasible remedial alternatives for disposal of the extracted ground water besides disposal to the
city sewer/storm drain system.
A meeting has been scheduled to discuss your site for April 23, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the offices of
the EHD at 600 E. Main. Please contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 to confirm you will
attend the meeting or to schedule it for another date or time.
Thank u for yourFnvironmental
1,/h J.
