September 19, 2019 SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY 16475 TIDE ROAD RIPON,CALIFORNIA 1.0 INTRODUCTION Petralogix Engineering, Inc. has been retained by Ms. Jennifer De Jong to conduct a Soil Suitability Study(SSS) for the property located at 16475 Tide Road, Ripon,San Joaquin County,California. The site assessor parcel number (APN) is 203-100-17. Proposed development consists of the addition of a new single-family home on a currently vacant parcel.The Environmental Health Department has requested the owner to submit a Soil Suitability Study (SSS) to assess conditions pertaining to the development of the parcel and associated planned septic system. The purpose of this SSS is to determine whether the soils are suitable for use with a septic system. The study was conducted in accordance with the requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development Code. An important element of an SSS consists of conducting percolation tests to determine if soils meet the required absorption rates, as required by the San Joaquin County, Public Health Services,and Environmental Health Department(EHD). In addition to conducting the percolation test,a review of geologic maps,published soil information, and groundwater information, was utilized to evaluate the suitability of soils for use with a septic system. This report has been formatted to correspond with the Soil Suitability Study Requirements Checklist of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD) dated July 14, 2003. 1.1 Description of Site The property is located at 16475 Tide Road (APN: 203-100-17), Ripon, County of San Joaquin, California.The parcel is approximately 0.94 acres of land with no structures.The property is located in a rural residential neighborhood, with E. French Camp Road adjacent north, Tide Road adjacent east, and Highway 120 approximately two miles north of the site. The general vicinity consists of rural residential lots and agricultural use. The elevation at the site, according to a United States Geological Survey', is approximately 60 feet above mean sea level (msl).The site is relatively flat,with topography in the area grading gently to the west. According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer web site,2 the subject property is zoned AG-40.
