(AES) on August 28, 2003 and has the following
comments.
The RAP included data gathered from remedial testing and incorporated these results in
to site-specific parameters for design, construction, and operation of the chosen
remedial action, In-Situ Air Spargingl Soil Vapor Extraction (IAS-SVE).
EHD has made a tentative determination that the plan is in compliance with local, State
and Federal laws and regulations and that the resultant work will not create significant
adverse environmental impacts which exceed the benefits to be gained from cleanup of
the contamination. EHD concurs with the design of the system and tentatively approves
the RAP based on the following conditions.
California Underground Storage (UST) Regulations (T-23, Div 3. Chapter 16, Section
2728) requires that the public be informed of the activities of a corrective action and
allowed a period to comment prior to its enactment.
In order to complete the requirements needed for public participation, EHD must post
the site. You will need to provide an executive summary that is to be included in the
site posting. This executive summary is to be a single-paged document, on non-
letterhead paper, written in layman's terms that can be easily understood by the general
public, and should clearly state the following:
• A brief history of what was at the site that caused this need for corrective action,
• What is at the site now,
What it is you want to do at the site,
• How long the process will take if approved to proceed and,
What the site will be after this corrective action process is complete.
