• <br /> flights, and a coXe was taken from 60' to 62' , recovery <br /> consisted of 24" of tan to buff silty clay, dense, firm, with a <br /> mottled gray appearance. There was no odor noted, but a PID <br /> reading recorded 14 ppm. A sample was sealed and preserved as <br /> described earlier. <br /> The well was advanced to 70' ; drill cuttings were tan to buff <br /> clay as above. ThQ hole was cQr_ed_fxoaL_7Q, to 72' ; recovery <br /> consisted of 18" of very fine micaceous silty water sand, <br /> buff to tan, with a slight petroleum odor. A reading of 97 ppm <br /> was recorded with the PID meter. The bottom tube was sealed and <br /> Preserved using standard field procedures. <br /> The hole was taken to 81' ; sediments consisted of soft, loose, <br /> water sand. EXH [B T Y I is a lithologic plot of the hole. <br /> The auger flights were pulled, and the hole enlarged to 10 1/4" <br /> for placing the casing. Blank & perforated threaded flush-joint <br /> 4" OD, sch. 40 casing was run, sand packed and sealed as shown <br /> on schematic diagram EXHIBIT XI . The top of the casing was <br /> covered, and operations ceased for the day The preserved <br /> • samples were stored under refrigeration for future transfer to <br /> the laboratory. <br /> May__26,_J 99� -- The rig was moved and spotted on the location <br /> marked for MONITORING WELL #2; clean 8 1/4" augers were advanced <br /> to 10' ; cutting consisted of black peaty loam and tan to brown <br /> clay. A--core was taken from IQ ' to _12' using the same method as <br /> described earlier. Recovery was 24" of tan to buff, silty, <br /> Plastic clay. No odors or staining were noted, and no PID <br /> reading was taken The sample at 11 ' was sealed and preserved <br /> The augers were advanced to 20' , drill cuttings were tan to buff, <br /> slightly sticky clay. A core was taken from_ 20' to 22' ; .recovery <br /> was 24" of tan to buff, silty clay; moist, soft. There was no <br /> odor, and the PID meter did not give a positive reading The <br /> sample at 21 ' was sealed and preserved per standard protocol . <br /> After augering to 301 , a core w s &aken from 30' to_32' ; <br /> .recovery was 24" of buff to tan, silty, crumbly clay; slightly <br /> moist with a mottled appearance. There were no odors detected, <br /> but a reading of 11 ppm was measured with the PID meter. The <br /> sample at 31' was sealed and preserved as above <br /> Augers were advanced to 40' , and a c re was taken from 40' to <br /> 42' ; recovery was 24" of tan to buff, silty micaceous clay as <br />• last above. There was no odor, but the PID meter gave a reading <br /> of 12 ppm. The middle tube was sealed and preserved <br /> 11 <br />
