• Screen - eight inch diameter, wire wound V notch, 110 feet
total length installed in two independent sections, low
carbon-steel
EW-7
• Depth - 210 feet
• Conductor Casing - minimum 16 inch diameter, 20 feet total
length, low-carbon steel (required for reverse rotary method
only)
• Blank Casing - eight inch diameter, . 25 inch wall thickness,
141. 5 total length, low carbon steel
• Screen - eight inch diameter, wire wound V notch, 70 feet
total length, low carbon steel
2 . 2 Construction Specifications and Methods
2 . 2 . 1 Geologic Coreholes
Well construction at each site will begin with the drilling of a
pilot corehole to 210 feet. The 94 millimeter core system method
or approved equivalent will be used. The supervising geologist
will be on-site to maintain a lithologic log of the material
encountered. The contractor will provide core boxes to retain
samples for testing and inspection.
2 . 2 . 2 Sieve Analysis of Drill Cuttings
The supervising geologist and the Contractor will select samples
for mechanical analysis by a soils laboratory. The Contractor
shall obtain the approval of the supervising geologist for the
laboratory, sieve sizes, and methods of analyses to be used. The
Contractor will deliver the samples to the laboratory and shall
arrange for the analyses, which shall include a gradation curve for
each sample analyzed. Two copies of the results of the analyses
shall be furnished to the supervising geologist.
2 . 2 . 3 Geophysical Logging
The Contractor will provide for geophysical logging of both
coreholes. When the test hole has been drilled to the complete
depth, circulation will be continued until all drill cuttings have
been removed from the hole and the drilling mud in the hole is
uniform. Circulation will be continued until the logging service
equipment is on location, after which the drill pipe may be removed
from the pilot hole. The geophysical log shall be conducted
immediately thereafter. The geophysical log shall be one of the
following: (1) a standard electrical survey with one spontaneous
potential curve, gamma curve, and two resistivity curves or (2) an
induction - electrical survey with a spontaneous potential curve,
a 16 inch normal curve, and a 40 inch focused induction curve.
