�. . <br /> mum <br /> March 9, 1988 <br /> Fire Engine Company No. 21 Stockton, California AGS 078009-1 <br /> w+ <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> n <br /> Fire Engine Company No. 2 is located at .210 West Sonora Street, <br /> in Stockton, California. The site location is depicted on the <br /> Site Vicinity Map (Plate P-1) . It is our un ' l-standing, from <br /> information supplied by the Department of Public Works, that an <br /> underground gasoline fuel storage tank was excavated and removed <br /> from the site on or before April 1, 1987, by Stockton Service <br /> Station Equipment Company. The past location and configuration <br /> of the former tank is depicted on the Generalized Site Plan <br /> (Plate P--2) . <br /> A soil sample was taken during or after the tank removal <br /> operations on April 1, 1987, The samp4e was analyzed by <br /> California Water Labs, Inc. , of Modesto, California for the <br /> volatile organic constituents benzene, toluene, and xylene, for <br /> total lead, and for total petroleum hydrocarbons. The results of <br /> these analyses are presented in Table 1, and copies of the <br /> laboratory reports are included in the Appendix of this report. <br /> The results indicate that tt_.e concentrations of the volatile <br /> organic constituents benzene, toluene and xylene, and total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil near the former tank exceed <br /> allowable levels defined by the San Joaquin Local Health <br /> 9 <br /> u <br /> ,4pp/ied GeoSYWO S <br />
