March 9, 1988
Fire Engine Company No. 2, Stockton, California AGS 038009-1
GRADIENT CALCULATIONS
The ground-water gradient will be calculated in order to provide
an indication of the direction of ground--water flow at the site.
Measurements of elevation differences between tops cf the casings
Of the wells will be made by use of an automatic level. Water
depth measurements will be made with an electronic water-level
indicator. These data will be combined to calculate the relative
elevation of the ground-water surface in each well and the slope
of the potentiometric surface across the site.
FURTHER DELINEATION DRILLING
If sample analyses show that contamination has extended off site,
or beyond the limits defined by the monitoring wells, additional
wells will be proposed and installed with the authorization of
the appropriate regulatory agencies and the Department of Public
Works of the City of Stockton. These wells will be located so as
to fully define the extent of contamination, and will be
constructed in the- same manner as the wells described above.
' Similarly, additional drilling may be required if ..the ground-
water: gradient data indicate that none of the first set of wells
15
Appl etf GeoSgstems
