LW Additional Soil and Groundwater Investigation and <br /> Monitor Well Installation Report _ <br /> CSUS Multi-Campus Regional Center <br /> January 11,2002 <br /> Page 14 <br /> 6.1.1 CSUS,Stockton <br /> �• Eleven of the DWR well records pertain to seven wells located on the CSUS property. The CSUS <br /> maintenance mechanic for the campus property was contacted to help identify the wells identified by the <br /> well records. He provided a map and helped identify the locations indicated by nine of the well records. <br /> Lo Four of the eleven well records are for the abandonment of four wells and another four of the well <br /> records pertain to these four abandoned wells. There are two well records with incomplete information. It <br /> could not be ascertained by current campus personnel or maps whether the well records were related to <br /> any of the aforementioned wells or whether they were for two unknown wells located on the campus <br /> property. One well record was identified for a currently active well that is used to provide water for air <br /> conditioning to a campus building. The California Water Service Company (CWSC) provides municipal <br /> water service to the campus property. The one active well location is provided below: <br /> North California Street <br /> A well record for a property located at North California Street (W1 in Figure 6, Appendix A) indicates <br /> �- that a well was installed in 1950. The well is actually located on campus property south of East Rose <br /> Street, approximately ten feet north of the Bertha Knowles Auditorium. The wellhead is located <br /> underground and is accessed through a covered manhole. The well was visually verified for its existence <br /> +r. and use. The well provides water for air conditioning inside the auditorium and is approximately 1,500 <br /> feet north of the site. <br /> 6.1.2 Other DWR Wells <br /> Two DWR well records are for two wells located off of the campus property. The property locations are <br /> provided below: <br /> 1051 North Airport Way <br /> An undated well record for a property located at 1051 North Airport Way (W2 in Figure 6, Appendix A) <br /> �. indicates that an irrigation well was deepened from 100 feet to 140 feet. The current owner of the <br /> property for this well record could not be contacted. CWSC provides municipal water service to the study <br /> area. The property is located approximately 1,900 feet northeast of the site. <br /> West side of Aurora Street <br /> A well record for a property located on the west side of Aurora Street, between Fremont Street and <br /> Lindsay Street, (W3 in Figure 6, Appendix A) indicates that a municipal well was installed in 1960. <br /> According to the owner of the property, the well is currently inactive. CWSC provides municipal water <br /> service to the study area. The property is located approximately 1,400 feet south of the site. <br /> 6.2 SURFACE WATERS <br /> There were no surface water bodies identified on maps or during site reconnaissance. <br /> 6.3 SCHOOLS <br /> One school was identified within the study area: <br /> 1.
