lFer'XIMORC
of TPH G was 3 6 m Appendix C contains the laboratoryg APIA results and figure showing the
soil stockpile sample locations Also, based upon the defined lateral and vertical extent of
petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soils associated with the three former 5,000 gallon USTs, it
is believed that the soil removed during the installation of the 15,000 gallon UST is not
' impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons It is proposing to consider Stockpile 2 to be non-
contaminated and thus the soil will be spread evenly over the area where it is currently
' stockpiled No further activities are proposed for these soils
3 4 3 Drummed Waste
A total of 43, 55-gallon drains are currently stored on the site (see Figure 5) Of these
drums, 37 drums contain soil generated during previous site investigations, two drums contain
liquid, reported to be water generated during the purging and development of the groundwater
' monitoring wells on site, and four drums are empty It is proposed to characterize the
contents of the drums and dispose of the waste accordingly
' tMTo characterize the druammed soil, it is proposed to empty all of the drums andform a
gle stockpile The stockpile wall be placed on impermeable bermedlastic sheeting, and
P g,
will remain covered until characterization has been completed It as estimated that a total of
12 cubic yards of soil are presently drummed The resulting stockpile will be sampled to
' determine any potential hazardous cratena From the stockpile soil, one composite sample
will be collected, and analyzed by a certified laboratory for TEN and TPH as JP-4
' het fuel If soil contaminant concentrations are below 00 mg/kg for TP th the absence o
of BTEX compounds, the soil will be spread and left on s e present location of the
r
To characterize the drummed liquid, each drum will be sampled with the samples
being analyzed for TPH-G, BTEX TPH as JP4 het fuel Following the receipt of the
analytical results, Versar will either dispose of the water at an appropriate off-site facility or
request permission from the San Joaquin PHS/EM to dispose of the water on site The
empty drums currently on site and any that are created during on-sate disposal activities will
be used dunng Versaa's investigation to store soil or liquid investigation derived wastes
it
