Iffirriffianc <br /> To achieve the second objective,� ve, Versar proposes to conduct quarterly groundwater <br /> monitoring for a period of one yearvusing the existing three groundwater monitoring wells at <br /> the site Following each sampling, a quarterly groundwater monitoring report will be <br /> prepared by Versar for submittal to the San Joaquin County PHS/EHD on behalf of DSA and <br /> the US National Guard Bureau ? <br /> Stockpiled soil at the site, needs to be disposed of or reused at the soil Prior to the <br /> disposing of any of the soil, the stockpile material will be sampled d characterized Based <br /> upon the analytical results, soil disposal will be determined <br /> 1.2 Site Location and Layout <br /> The site is located in the southem part of Stockton Metropolitan Airport at the <br /> Stockton Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) at 2000 Stimson Road, Stockton, <br /> California The site location is shown in Figure 1 The site consists of the area including <br /> and surrounding the former location of three underground storage tanks (USTs) and their <br /> dispensers To the south and west of the former USTs are one 15,000 gallon UST and two, <br /> partially buned, 20,000 gallon fuel storage tanks and dispensers, respectively All three of <br /> these USTs are currently active and store JP-4 {let fuel) The majority of the site is covered <br /> with asphalt or concrete pads There are three existing monitoring wells on site Figure 2 <br /> shows the general site layout <br /> 1.3 Geology <br /> The site is located in the central portion of the Sacramento Valley The Valley is <br /> composed of unconsolidated Quaternary sediments from alluvial and lake deposits Tlus <br /> alluvium is the result of the erosion of the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain to the east <br />' The Sierras are composed of a wide vanety of rocks, including granitic, metamorphic, and <br /> volcanic rocks, which range considerably m age and composition To the west of the valley <br /> are the Coast Ranges which are composed of metamorphic rocks These mountains are <br /> highlighted by the Franciscan Complex Structurally significant is the Stockton Fault which <br /> trends northeast-southwest and is located within Stockton city linuts and the north trending <br /> 2 <br />
