Company Health and Safety Coordinator <br /> Name: Ray Kablanow <br /> Phone No: (209)538-6424 <br /> 2.0Q UALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM <br /> The following measures will be taken by Geological Technics Inc. to ensure that a high quality study <br /> is conducted and that cross contamination does not occur. . <br /> 2.1 Equipment <br /> Soil borings may be drilled with a hollow stem continuous flight auger, owned and operated by.a <br /> licensed well driller. Soil samples may be collected using a 2,inch (i.d.) modified California split <br /> spoon sampler,or continuous coring device,lined with brass sample tubes. <br /> 2.2 Boring Logs <br /> A detailed log will be made of each boring. The information to be noted includes: sample depths, <br /> s blow counts if continuous coring devise is not used, horizons ofAetectable contamination (detected <br /> by field methods), soil classification utilizing the Unified Soil Classification System and sediment <br /> description (color, texture, composition, hardness, moisture content, and post-depositional changes <br /> a <br /> that have occurred in the sediments). <br /> i <br /> 2.3 Cross Contamination Prevention <br /> All sample equipment (split spoon sampler or core tube, brass:tubes etc.) and auger (drilling rod, <br /> drilling bits, & auger, etc.) will be thoroughly cleaned before being used and between uses. Wash <br /> water may be containerized in DOT approved 55 gallon drums,labeled,and stored on site until their <br /> disposition can be arranged. Plastic gloves will be worn during sample collection and changed <br /> between all samples. <br /> 2.4 Chain of Custody <br /> Chain of Custody(CofC) forms are legal documents used to track the handling of samples All dates, <br /> times, persons and their companies will be listed from the time the sample is collected to its ultimate <br /> disposal. A CofC form will be filled out for all samples collected. The CofC will be tracked to ensure <br /> sample integrity. <br /> I <br /> I � <br />
