Appendix A <br />' Site Background Information <br /> SUTTER OFFICE CENTER <br /> 242 North Sutter Street, Stockton, California <br /> SITE LOCATION <br />' The site is located in a commercial area of low topographic relief in central Stockton, California <br /> There is one multi-story building (242 North Sutter Street) occupied by multiple businesses on the <br />' western portion of the site, the remaining portion consists of a paved parking lot <br /> Based on the map Lanes of Equal Depth to Groundwater Sprang 1999, published by the San Joaquin <br />' County Flood Control District and Water Conservation District(FCD&WCD), the estimated depth <br /> to ground water at the site is 30 feet bsg The map Lanes of Equal Elevation of Groundwater Sprang <br /> 1998(FCD&WCD)depicts the regional ground water flow direction toward the northwest and west <br />' Review of previous ground water monitoring at the site and historical depth to ground water maps <br /> (FCD&WCD) dating back to 1971 suggests that ground water depth near the site has fluctuated <br /> between 50 feet bsg and 60 feet bsg <br /> UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> An unnamed service station operated at the site from the 1940s until the 1960s Reportedly, four <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs) were filled with sand and abandoned in place in the late 1960s <br />' A Standard Oil Service Station operated at the site from the 1960s until 1980 Subsequently, the <br /> USTs associated with this fuel system were removed The location of the former USTs during this <br />' period is uncertain, but is believed to be at the northeast corner of the site <br /> A site historical review of City of Stockton street directory records, San Joaquin County Assessors <br />' Office indicated that a Chevron gasoline service and filling; station operated at the site under the <br /> assumed address of 448 East Miner Avenue (242 North Sutter Street) from 1935 until 1941 A cab <br /> car service operated at the same assumed address of 448 East Miner Avenue from 1942 until 1958 <br /> From 1967 to 1980,a Standard Service Station operated at the site under the assumed address of 434 <br /> East Miner Avenue The property was also occupied by the Continental American Bus Lines depot <br /> from 1950 until the late 1960s The operation of four 500-gallon gasoline and/or fuel USTs ended <br /> in 1960, at which time the USTs were reportedly closed in place The Chevron dispenser for this <br /> tank set was located at the northeast corner of the site <br /> Neither UST decommissioning was veiified with soil sample collection <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
