. %V001
The scope and duration of the monitoring program will be
defined in more detail after completion of Part 1, but at
minimum will include the following tasks .
Task 2 . 1 : Ground Water Monitoring
Monitoring of the wells will be performed for a
period of at least nine months (or three
quarters) . Each well will be monitored on a
monthly basis for water level, odor, and free
floating product.
Task 2 .2 : Ground Water Sampling and Analysis
Sampling and analysis of ground water will be
performed on a quarterly basis. Water samples
will be analyzed in a state-certified laboratory
for TPH as gasoline with BTEX distinction. Prior
to collection of samples, each well will be purged
following standard protocol . Purged ground water
will be stored in containers for proper disposal .
Prior to sample collection, each well will be
surveyed with respect to water level and presence
of free floating product.
Since the last ground water sampling event was
conducted in October 1988, samples will be
collected first from all existing wells and
analyzed for the specific constituents before
initiating any further investigation work. The
results of this sampling round will also be used
as part of the review of available information.
Task 2 . 3 : Report Preparation and Submittal
Results of each monthly monitoring event and
quarterly sampling will be submitted in a status
report no later than the fifteenth of the month
following the preceding quarterly sampling event.
The report will also include any proposed
modifications to the subsequent sampling events or
any further investigative work.
SITE SAFETY PLAN
All field procedures and activities related to the conduct of
the site investigation work will be in accordance with the
site-specific safety plan to be developed for the project.
The site safety plan will be in compliance with applicable
requirements of the California Department of Health Services
and the Federal. and State Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA and Cal-OSHA) .
7
