%Vol
i
Development of appropriate remediation plan,
including interim measures to minimize
potential environmental impact .
The appropriate course of action will be developed
based on evaluation of technical, economic,
environmental, and legal factors . Either one or
both of the following strategies will be
considered:
1) Conduct further site characterization and
monitoring to adequately define the nature and
extent of subsurface contamination.
2) Conduct feasibility study and develop a
remediation plan.
Task 1 . 8 : Conduct Feasibility toand Concept-V-41 Desi n of
R m is i n Plan
Based on the results of the above tasks, conduct a
detailed feasibility study of alternative
technologies for remediation of ground water. The
study will include a detailed evaluation of
alternative technologies, considering technical,
economic, environmental, and legal factors .
Economic comparison of alternatives will consider
both capital and operating costs as well as the
present worth or life cycle cost of each
alternative.
Upon selection of the appropriate remediation
alternative, a conceptual design of the selected
system will be prepared including process layout,
design parameters, engineering cost estimate,
equipment manufacturer' s specifications, and
estimated implementation schedule.
Task 1 . 9 : PreparQ Sap2QrL
A report presenting the findings, conclusions, and
recommendations will be prepared and submitted to
the appropriate regulatory agencies . The report
will present the conceptual details of the
selected remedial plan, including estimated cost
and implementation schedule. The format of the
report will follow the 5-step investigative
process and the suggested outline of RWQCB.
PART 2 - GROUND WATE M N T RIN AND SAMPLING
As required by the RWQCB, a ground water monitoring and
sampling program will need to be implemented as part of the
investigation and remediation of subsurface contamination.
6
