E x
` Mira
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Mobil Oil Corporation retained Alton Geoscience, Inc. on
January 12, 1990 to perform an environmental assessment and
site characterization study at former Mobil Oil Service
Station 10-NP4, located at 2375 Tracy Boulevard, Tracy,
California. A site vicinity map is shown in Figure 1 and a
site plan is shown in Figure 2.
1.1 p
The site assessment and characterization study was conducted
to: (1) address the concerns of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health. Services (SJCEHS) and the Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB); (2) define the
nature and extent of hydrocarbon contamination in the
subsurface; and (3) develop an appropriate course of action
for additional investigation or remediation in accordance
with the requirements of the regulatory agencies.
• ODe of [vTnrlr
The scope of this characterization and investigative work
included the performance of following tasks:
® Review available information and acquire the
necessary permits.
a Install additional soil borings and convert into
ground water monitoring wells.
e Collect and analyze soil and ground water samples.
Survey, develop, and sample the ground water
monitoring wells.
e Perform the necessary test and analysis to determine
aquifer parameters and characteristics.
a Evaluate the results of the field activities and
laboratory analysis of soil and ground water samples.
r If appropriate, conduct a feasibility study of
alternative remedial technologies or measures to
address the nature of subsurface contamination at the
site.
o Prepare a technical report presenting the results and
findings of the above activities and the appropriate
recommendations for either additional investigation
and/or remediation.
1
MINI IMMMEMEN, NEI
