-I ta <br /> ' <br /> 2.0 SITE CHARACTERISTICS <br /> A brief description of the site location, history, regional <br /> geology, and hydrogeology is presented below. <br /> - 2.1 ;`Q istory�r T?� SLrintioa <br /> The former Mobil Oil service station site is presently a BP <br /> Oil aervice station, located at 2375 Tracy Boulevard, Tracy, <br /> California. Mobil oil Corporation formally transferred this <br /> seg-vice station to BP Oil Company in 1969 as part of its <br /> property transfer program in Northern California, Oregon, and <br /> Washington. <br /> The site is located on the southwest corner of Tracy <br /> Boulevard and Grant Line Road and is bounded by an Exxon <br /> service station to the east, a Chevron service station to the <br /> northeast, and retail shopping centers to the north, west, <br /> and south. The properties immediately adjacent to the site <br /> are primarily commercial developments. Duncan Russel High <br /> le <br /> School is located within a 1/2-mile of the prtelrt2,000ifeet <br /> Powers Park and Tracy Ball Park are approximately <br /> south and 50 feet southeast of the site, respectively. <br /> The site is located at an elevation oureplroxS aarlCut6Canal <br /> above mean sea level, as shown in Fig g <br /> ti and Tom Paine Slough are located approximately 1-1/2 miles <br /> - northeast of the site. Both of these drainages flow to the <br /> north. <br /> There are a number of existing wells in use within the City <br /> of Tracy. Appendix A presents the list of all the wells in <br /> n. the vicinity of the site and a map showing the well <br /> locations. <br /> 2.2 t-.. of Past S��tdies <br /> A brief description of the site history and previous <br /> investigative work performed by others is presented in this <br /> section to provide an understanding of the project and <br /> ongoing work. The project background was based on the <br /> previous reports prepared by Kaprealian Engineers, Inc. (KEI) <br /> on the various investigative work completed on the site from <br /> 1986 through 1988. <br /> 2.2.1 Tank Excavation - 1966 L <br /> Four underground storage tanks (two 10,000-gallon, one <br /> 5,040-gallon, and one 250-gallon tank) were removed from <br /> the site on August 19, 1986. visual inspection by KEI <br /> indicated that the tanks were in good condition with no <br /> ,.r <br /> --- 2 <br />
