So much depends on how well the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) is prepared. If the CAP leaves questions unanswered, and does not technically justify proposals presented in the CAP, then our department will address these concerns in a letter and this will take time. If there are minor issues, then a telephone conversation or an e-mail may be all that is needed to resolve an issue. Please understand that I do care about every site that I manage, and each day I do my best to make good use of my time so that your mother, and other responsible parties, get the best I can offer. 1 can do no more. However, I would appreciate anthing that can be done since money and remediation is so critical and after so many years, it looks like we imay be turning the corner. Would an advance copy of the major points be helpful to you or to the geologist? Or a telephone discussion between the engineers and you and the geologist to provide information to ease the time involved for the formal review of the CAP? I am sorry but I can not guarantee that our department can meet your expectation and approve, by early May, the Corrective Action Plan (CAP)yet to be submitted to this office. Once the CAP has been submitted to this department, it must be reviewed, not only by me, but by the professional geologist on staff. The geologist has so much on his desk already, that it would be inappropriate to ask him to expedite your mother's site when he has so many other sites already waiting to be reviewed. I will do my best to review the CAP in a timely manner once 1 have received it, but please understand that I have no control over how soon our department will respond with approval/disapproval once the CAP has been submitted.
