1
' 15 June 2006
AGE-NC Project No 04-1045
' and the sampler's initials and transported in a chilled container under chain of custody to Cal Tech
Environmental Laboratories(CTEL),a Department of Health Services-certified analytical laboratory,
for analysis The samples were analyzed for
' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in
accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified,
' • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes(BTEX) in accordance with EPA Method
8260, and
' • The fuel additives di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), methyl
tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA),
1,2-Dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and 1,2-Dibromoethane (EDB) by EPA Method 8260
' Modified
' 3.0. FINDINGS
l
Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
ie 19 April 2006 The contaminant impact to ground water was quantified from the laboratory
analytical data
1
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
' At the time of the April 2006 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from 17 46 feet
(MW-3)to 18 03 (MW-2)feet below the tops of the well casings(Table 3),water levels were at least
' 2 46 feet below the top of the well screens, indicating that the wells are properly screened and
representative of shallow ground water conditions The average calculated ground water elevation
was approximately 8 04 feet below mean sea level (MSL)
3
.,W
Ground water flow was inferred to be east,,at a hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 002 feet per
' foot(ft/ft) Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured on 19 April 2006
' 32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in the ground water sample collected from well MW-1 at a concentration of
' 190,000 micrograms per liter (µg/1)
• All BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples collected from well MW-1,maximum
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
