Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc . -v
07 May 2009 n
AGE-NC Project No. 09-1688 W ECERED
Ms. Margaret Lagorio MAY 1 1 2009 U
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
600 East Main Street PERMUISERVICES
Stockton, California 95202
Subject: Limited Subsurface Investigation Work Plan
PADILLA PROPERTY
14749 North Thornton Road,Lodi, California
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
At the request of Ms. Mila Padilla, property owner,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE)has
prepared the enclosed Limited Subsurface Investigation Work Plan for the above-referenced site. The
work is being performed to investigate possible soil contamination caused by discharge of storm
water run-off and/or unauthorized dumping of motor oil at the site. This work plan was prepared as
required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department for the procurement of a soil
boring permit. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site is illustrated on
Figure 2.
BACKGROUND
It is our understanding storm water from the site formerly discharged into a small drainage
immediately south of the property line via underground piping. Storm water was routed through
various drains on the facility into a sump which eventually discharged to a drainage ditch owned by
Raymond & B J. Coldani. Sometime in 2008, the drainage pipe was capped and discharge was
discontinued, reportedly due to possible contamination near the discharge pipe outfall.
Photographs of the area were provided by Ms. Mila Padilla to AGE for review. The photographs
were reportedly collected around April 2008 and evidenced what appears to be surficial
contamination frompetroleum hydrocarbons around the outfall piping and within the drainage canal.
A sheen is also visible on the surface water in the canal.Additionally, water appears to have a bright
green color — likely indicating the presence of anti-freeze; this shade of green is not generally a
natural occurrence in water and appeared to be florescent.
837 Shaw Road, Stockton,California 95215
Telephone (209) 467-1006 Fax (209)467-1118
