Hazardous Waste Management Program <br />Revised 3/21/16 <br />IDENTIFYING HAZARDOUS WASTE <br />#2 - Is It Hazardous? <br />There are many items that can be found throughout our store that, if waste, may be considered <br />hazardous waste due to the ingredients they contain. Hazardous merchandise will fall under one of <br />six categories. <br />The six categories of hazardous waste are: <br />‡)ODPPDEOH $HURVROVOLTXLGFRPEXVWLEOH <br />• Oxidizers <br />• Corrosive Bases <br />• Corrosive Acids <br />‡7R[LFV LQFOXGLQJH[SLUHGRXWGDWHGRYHUWKHFRXQWHUPHGLFLQHV <br />‡8QLYHUVDO:DVWH EDWWHULHVVPDOOHOHFWURQLFVÀXRUHVFHQWODPSV <br />NOTE:If an item does not fall into any of the six categories and is not considered hazardous, it must <br />EHPDUNHGGRZQRUPDUNHGRXWRIVWRFNUHF\FOHGRUGLVSRVHGRISHU%LJ/RWVSROLF\SURFHGXUH25 <br />VROGLIXVDEOHIRULWVLQWHQGHGSXUSRVH <br />Categories of Hazardous Waste <br />On the following pages we will provide you with examples of each type of hazardous waste, key <br />points and common items found in each category. Place the item in a plastic bag and ticket for <br /> 5¢ and sell.
