The water <br /> produced during well development was containerized and left on-site in 55-gallon <br /> aste, ifs deemed necessary, i►po11 receipt of laboratory <br /> drams for disposal as hazardous w <br /> results. Disposal will be the responsibility of the client unless other arrangements have <br /> been made. <br /> All soil. and groundwater samples were properly labeled with date collected, project <br /> number, sample coordinator, and sample identification. Field records document the <br /> above information and other significant data. <br /> The samples were .refrigerated immediately for delivery to the laboratory and were not <br /> opened by anyone other than laboratory personnel. Chain of Custody records were <br /> maintained at all. times. <br /> Soil Sampling <br /> r All soil. sampling equipment was thoroughly steam cleaned before and between samp- <br /> lin'g to prevent cross contamination. Relatively undisturbed soil samples were taken al <br /> intervals of not more than five feet (5') in order to evaluate the subsurface materi,.ls. <br /> The soil samples were taken using a California Modified Split Spoon ;ampler with <br /> brass liners. The sampler was driven will: a down hole wire line hammer repeatedly <br /> falling approximately 30 inches. <br /> L. , <br /> The laboratory samples did not have head space and were immediately sealed in their <br /> liners using aluminum foil lined plastic caps. The remaining samples were removed <br /> from their .liner and used as an aide to the on-site geologist in logging the material at <br /> that depth. <br /> Soil samples collected for analysis were analyzed using EPA method 3559/303 5 <br /> modified for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel oil, EPA method 8020 for r3';'1 :: y <br /> compounds, and Method 5520 D & F for oil and grease.
