WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -3- <br /> CITY OF RIPON <br /> INDUSTRIAL AND DOMESTIC <br /> WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> a. Discharge Specifications, Domestic and Industrial Wastewater: <br /> 1. Neither the treatment nor the discharge shall cause a <br /> pollution or nuisance as defined by the California <br /> Water Code, Section 13050. <br /> 2. The discharge shall not cause degradation of any water <br /> supply. <br /> 3. The discharge shall remain within the designated <br /> disposal area at all times. The disposal area is <br /> defined as the 63 acres of domestic ponds, ten acres <br /> of industrial ponds, and the 18.6 acres of pasture <br /> owned by the City. <br /> 4. The 30-day average daily dry weather discharge flow <br /> shall not exceed the following: <br /> Domestic - 0.499 million gallons (1889 m3) <br /> Industrial - 0.570 million gallons (2158 m3) <br /> 5. Collected screening, sludges, and other solids removed <br /> from liquid wastes shall be disposed of in a manner <br /> approved by the Executive Officer. <br /> 6. Reclaimed wastewater shall meet the criteria contained <br /> in Title 22, Division 4, California Administrative <br /> Code (Section 60301, et seq. ). <br /> 7. The dissolved oxygen content of holding ponds shall not <br /> be less than 1.0 mg/l for 16 hours in any 24-hour <br /> period. <br /> 8. A minimum freeboard of two (2.0) feet shall be <br /> maintained in each domestic pond at all times. <br /> C. Discharge Specifications, Surface Irrigation: <br /> 1. Domestic wastewater used for irrigation shall not <br /> contain in excess of 0.5 ml/l settleable matter: <br /> 2. The public shall be effectively excluded from irriga- <br /> tion areas when undisinfected domestic wastewater is <br /> being used. <br />
